HOUSTON CRICKET LEAGUE
YOUTH CRICKET TOURNAMENT
RULES & REGULATIONS
1. There will be 4 teams participating in the tournament. Each team will play the other team twice. The top 2 teams will play in the finals.
2. Points System - Win 3 points, Tie 2 points, No-Result 1 point
3. The top 2 teams, based on points will qualify for the finals. If 2 teams are tied in the group standings, then the group standings will be resolved as follows:
(i) Head to Head Win-Loss Record
(ii) Run Rate Differential
(iii) Toss of a coin
4. Each Match will be of 30 overs, with a 6 over limit per bowler.
5. Games will start at 9.30 a.m. Teams must be in attendance 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their matches in order to complete the coin toss and be ready to take the field immediately. Teams must have at least 7 players in attendance at the scheduled start of play, if not, one over will be deducted from their innings for each 5-minute delay. Any team causing delay of more than 45 minutes shall forfeit the game. In such a case, the team forfeiting the game shall receive zero points and their opponent shall receive 3 points.
6. A water break shall be taken after 15 overs, whose duration shall not exceed 5 minutes.
7. A lunch interval shall be taken between the innings and the duration shall not exceed 30 minutes.
8. There will be no rearrangement of Fixtures due to unsuitable weather conditions.
9. The team batting will be responsible for providing competent umpires.
10. Each team must play only those players who are registered before the start of the tournament. Each player to be registered must provide waiver forms signed by the parents. All players playing in this tournament must be born after 1st September, 1983 (ICC U-19 Rule). Playing XI to be submitted to the umpire before the start of the match.
11. No player who has played for one team during the tournament will be allowed to play for another team.
12. Standard rules of cricket as followed by the Houston Cricket League will apply. All Matches shall be played according to the latest Laws of Cricket, as published by Lords http://www.lords.org/cricket/laws.asp The Tournament Referee will resolve any disputes with only the captains of the teams involved and the umpires, if appropriate.
13. The decision of the Houston Cricket League will be final and binding on all parties involved.
